1. Nelson Mandela was a South African president. He was a great leader because he didn’t stop fighting for what he believed in. And for that, many people are inspired by him.

2. Mother Theresa was a woman who went to places where there were many poor and hungry people. She fed them and lived with them. Theresa would go to world leaders and tell them to pray more and give money to help the poor. She was a very inspirational leader.

3. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was against discrimination and peacefully protested. He wanted blacks and whites to go to the same schools and sit together on buses. He inspired others to give up racial acts like discrimination.

4. Rosa Parks led by example. During the time of the Jim Crow law in the south, Rosa was tired after work so she sat in the bus seat reserved for whites. A white man came on the bus and told her to go to the back. She said no and was arrested for not giving up her seat. After that, she fought peacefully for black rights. Rosa Parks inspired many people to protest peacefully for what they believe.

5. President Barack Obama is the first African-American President of the United States of America. He is in his second term as president. Many people look up to him because of the great things he does as president like free and affordable healthcare for all. Many people are still prejudice and Mr. Obama is very patient with those who insult him or his views.
